Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Honza Kucera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Middleton!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kucera looking to score a takedown here. Middleton is defending well but Kucera drives through and ends up in Middleton's guard.
Middleton keeping full guard, as Kucera tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Middleton not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kucera working for a triangle but Middleton defends it easily.

Middleton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Kucera's guard.
Kucera moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Middleton is stalling in the full guard.
Middleton is continuing to stall.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Middleton dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kucera. That did some damage!
Middleton lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Middleton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kucera's hands.

and Kucera counters with a nice double leg into side control. Middleton won't be happy with that.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Middleton manages to get back to half guard.

Kucera is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Middleton sees it coming and defends easily.

Kucera is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Middleton gets back to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Middleton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kucera is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Honza Kucera will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kucera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Middleton swivels and escapes.
Josh Middleton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Middleton connects with a crisp jab.
Kucera lands a head kick. Middleton smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Middleton misses with a body shot.

Kucera dives in and scores a takedown into Middleton's guard.

Middleton keeping moving, preventing Kucera from controlling successfully.
Kucera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Middleton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kucera is pushing down on Middleton's leg trying to pass to half guard. Middleton is fighting to maintain full guard but Kucera has managed to sneak the leg through.
Kucera prevents Middleton from improving his position.
Kucera trying to mount his opponent but Middleton defends it.
We've been hearing that Kucera has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Kucera passes to full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Kucera moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Middleton has worked his arm free - good work by Middleton!
Kucera advances nicely into full mount.
Middleton wants to hold on but Kucera pushes him away.
Middleton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kucera haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kucera fails to advance to Middleton's back.

Kucera goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Middleton turns into him and now he's in Kucera's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Middleton scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Middleton content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Kucera has locked up a guillotine! Kucera's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Middleton is holding on here and Kucera must be using up a lot of energy. Middleton has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Kucera gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
