Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clinton Erickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Post (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clinton Erickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Post!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Post drives through with a takedown into Erickson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Post controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Post would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Post's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Post with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Post tries to stand but Erickson is controlling from the bottom.
Post stays in close to Erickson's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Post is working Erickson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Post is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Post's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Post passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Post looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Erickson chipping away with strikes from the bottom.
Post is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Erickson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sloppy strikes there by Post.

Post decides to stand back up. Post steps back and let's Erickson get back to his feet.

Post clinches up against the cage.
Erickson tries to pull guard but Post won't allow it.

Post gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Erickson is looking to stand back up but Post counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Erickson.

Post is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Post is taking a breather. Erickson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Post uses his free foot to push down on Erickson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Erickson.
Post scoring with strikes but Erickson is staying in there.
Post sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Erickson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Post fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Erickson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Post looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Post dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Post rushes Erickson and presses him up against the cage.

Post is trying to trip Erickson. He has hold of a leg but Erickson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Post persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Post is stalling in the full guard.
Let's hope that Post has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Erickson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Post passes Erickson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Still in half guard, Post seems content to control.
Erickson has hold of Post's hands but Post slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Post has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Post sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Post lands with some strikes.
Erickson taking shots to the head.
Post controlling the pace for now.
Post with shots to the head and body - Erickson looks very uncomfortable down there.
George Post has got the better of the ground game so far.
Post takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
More stalling from Post.

Post has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Post showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Post pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Post instigates a clinch.

Post has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Erickson regains guard immediately.
Post tries to stand but Erickson is controlling from the bottom.
Post's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Erickson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Post showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Post wanted to stand there but Erickson had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Post moves into the clinch successfully.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Erickson letting Post take a breather here.
Post lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Erickson or not.
Erickson wants to break free but Post has control.
Post pushes off an throws an elbow but Erickson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Post slows down the pace here.

Post jumps guard and drags Erickson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Erickson won't allow Post to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Post pulls Erickson in close to his closed guard and prevents Erickson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Post has his foot on Erickson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Erickson works his way back into a safe position though.
Erickson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Post is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
George Post seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Post shoots in and gets a takedown into Erickson's guard.

Erickson being controlled here, momentarily.

Post stands and steps away. Erickson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Post scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Post is controlling the pace.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

George Post comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Post has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
