Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Heath Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Pulaski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Heath Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Pulaski!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pulaski closes the distance and clinches up with Slater, looking for a takedown. Pulaski pushes Slater against the cage but Slater circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slater appears to be looking for a big counter.

Pulaski darts in and clinches Slater up against the cage.
Slater jumps guard but Pulaski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Slater tries to pull guard but Pulaski holds him up against the cage and eventually Slater drops back down to his feet.
Slater tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pulaski just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heath Slater. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Slater has clasped his hands together around Pulaski's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Pulaski is looking to get back to his feet here but Slater is keeping cool and he's managed to take Pulaski's back.
Pulaski turns into Slater and is now in his guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Slater manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slater tries to pull guard but Pulaski forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Pulaski is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Slater is defending well.

Pulaski jumps into guard, dragging Slater to the mat.
Pulaski is pulling down on Slater's head. It's preventing any offense from Slater, at least for the moment.

Slater stands up from Pulaski's guard - Slater perhaps looking for a knockout.
Slater slaps away a takedown attempt from Pulaski, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Slater moves into the clinch.

Slater has clasped his hands together around Pulaski's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Slater decides to stand back up.

Slater is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pulaski's half guard.

Slater stands up and beckons Pulaski to join him on the feet.

Pulaski rushes Slater and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pulaski is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Slater is keeping busy.
Slater tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pulaski smiles and moves away.
Pulaski misses with the combination.

Pulaski takes the fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Slater pulls guard.

Slater has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pulaski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Slater is looking for a triangle but Pulaski pushes his legs off easily.
Slater is looking to stand up but Pulaski isn't so interested in that idea.

Slater kicks Pulaski off and gets to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Slater closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pulaski did well to prevent Slater getting side control.
Pulaski trying to get back to full guard but Slater takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Slater stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Pulaski blocks a head kick by Slater.
Pulaski moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Heath Slater has been cut.
Pulaski looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slater connects with a high kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heath Slater dominated that round.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Pulaski fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Crunch! Pulaski slams his shin into Slater's torso.
Pulaski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Slater counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pulaski won't be happy with that.
Slater staying calm.
Heath Slater overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Slater stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Pulaski lands a lovely overhand right.
Pulaski misses with a takedown attempt

and Slater counters by moving into the clinch.
Heath Slater has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Derek Pulaski.
Pulaski is breathing heavily.
Slater tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pulaski just stands there and leans against the cage.

Slater pulls guard effortlessly.

Slater pushes Pulaski off and scrambles back to his feet.
Slater is looking to clinch but Pulaski is avoiding it.
Slater looks to land a body kick but Pulaski moved away.
Pulaski gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Slater counters with a nice uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A head kick from Slater lands but Pulaski takes it in his stride.

Pulaski rushes Slater and presses him up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slater tries to pull guard but Pulaski forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Slater pulls guard.
Slater looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Pulaski wants to control from the top but Slater keeps moving.

Slater is looking for a triangle here but Pulaski uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Slater is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pulaski has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pulaski lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Slater takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Slater tries to bench press Pulaski off him but Pulaski keeps the position.
Pulaski tries to stand but Slater is controlling his head.
Slater gets back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pulaski tries to stand and escape but Slater actually recovers to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Slater has his feet on Pulaski's thighs here. He's pushed Pulaski off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Pulaski screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
