The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gorila takes one on the button.
gorila misses with the combination.
Rogers bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
It looks like silverback gorila has been cut.
Rogers throws a combination that misses
and gorila makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Rogers really felt that one!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogers connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Rogers lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends gorila sprawling to the canvas. Rogers follows him down, looking for the kill. Can gorila hang on?
gorila is rocked!
Rogers wants to free his trapped foot but gorila is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Still in half guard, Rogers seems content to control.
gorila flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
gorila manages to escape and get back to his feet!
gorila shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogers but Rogers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
gorila doesn't manage to clinch there - Rogers circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from gorila, right into the meat.
gorila takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rogers lands with a right that hurts gorila. gorila looks to clinch but Rogers throws a short knee that drops gorila. This one is all over!
