Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Julius Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Briggs kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "Axeman" By tomandandy. The key to victory for Julius Briggs has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julius Briggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Anderson ! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson clinches with his opponent.
Anderson throws a knee to the head but misses.
Anderson gets control of Briggs's arms and successfully pulls guard. Anderson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Anderson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Briggs manages to get himself to full guard.
Anderson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Anderson looking to sit in guard and control but Briggs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Briggs postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Briggs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Briggs is one step ahead there. Anderson working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Anderson is not content to let Briggs control the position. Briggs prevents Anderson from improving his position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth. The fighters are battling for position here. Anderson manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Briggs wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs prevents Anderson from getting back to his feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Anderson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Briggs on his heels. He'll look to pass Briggs's guard now, I'm sure. Briggs keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Anderson 's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Briggs looking for a sweep. Not yet Briggs, not yet. Briggs has momentary wrist control but Anderson slips an elbow through the middle. Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Briggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Briggs throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Briggs is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson lands a couple of digs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Briggs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Anderson trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom. Anderson wanted to stand there but Briggs had control of the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Briggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rory Anderson dominated that round. That's time! Briggs's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Anderson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Briggs backs up against the cage.
It looks like Julius Briggs has been cut. Anderson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Briggs tries to break the clinch but Anderson is controlling the position. Briggs can't get the takedown.
Anderson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Briggs regains guard.

Anderson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Briggs is proving hard to escape from. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Briggs looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson working some strikes from top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Anderson lands a couple of digs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anderson forces his way into half guard. Anderson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Briggs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Anderson tries to stand and escape but Briggs is controlling the position. Anderson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Anderson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson with good strikes from the mount here! Anderson trying to control but Briggs is having none of it. Anderson with shots to the head and body - Briggs looks very uncomfortable down there. Anderson controlling from the full mount. Anderson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Briggs is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson scoring with strikes but Briggs is staying in there. Anderson wants to control the pace but Briggs is squirming around nicely. Anderson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Briggs haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Anderson takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Anderson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Briggs's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Anderson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Anderson 's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Anderson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Rory Anderson has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anderson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Rory Anderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Julius Briggs's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Anderson displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Anderson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Briggs throws Anderson to one side and escapes! Briggs defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Anderson . Briggs swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. No luck with that takedown attempt from Anderson . A telegraphed takedown attempt from Anderson is defended easily by Briggs. Briggs drops down looking for a counter takedown but Anderson sprawls and moves away. Julius Briggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rory Anderson .
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Briggs is trying to defend but Anderson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Briggs has one foot on Anderson 's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Anderson closes the distance and clinches up with Briggs, looking for a takedown. Anderson pushes Briggs against the cage but Briggs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Briggs uses from the top position. Briggs stopping the sweep attempt from Anderson . Anderson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Anderson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Briggs is aware though and is defending well. Briggs passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

Anderson is looking to control Briggs's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Anderson avoid being mounted? Anderson is looking for a sweep. Briggs is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Anderson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Anderson tries to roll over but Briggs keeps him under control. Anderson is trying to control but can't.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Anderson shoots for a takedown but Briggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anderson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Briggs defends it nicely. Briggs feinted there with a counter leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Julius Briggs showed his dominance in that final round. Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
