Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Judah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kanga Roos! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Judah's guard. Judah wants to sweep here but Roos controlling him for the moment. Roos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Roos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Roos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Judah pulls Roos in close to prevent any damage. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Roos working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Judah working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Roos. Roos throwing strikes from guard but Judah blocks nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Judah looking to hit a scissor sweep but Roos is one step ahead there. Roos is looking to work some ground and pound but Judah has wrist control.

Roos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Roos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Judah working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Roos. Roos throws a big right hand that misses. Roos is in close to Judah's body, working some short punches and elbows. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Roos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Judah pulls his head out easily. Roos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Roos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Judah doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Judah manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Judah is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Roos has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Judah is looking to defend but Roos has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Judah! Roos pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Judah taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kanga Roos! Kanga Roos really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Urban Fighter logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
