Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Halftard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bang Vito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halftard closes the distance and pushes Vito back into the cage.
Vito lands with a light punch inside.
Vito changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Halftard fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vito wants to clinch up but Halftard keeps it at a distance.
Nice sprawl there from Halftard as Vito shoots in.

Gary Halftard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bang Vito.

It looks like Bang Vito has been cut.

Vito dives in and grabs Halftard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Halftard pushes down on Vito's head and hops out.
Vito takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Vito just misses with a elbow thrown towards Halftard's brow.

Halftard is pressed up against the cage. Vito has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Halftard down to the mat. Halftard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Halftard counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

enabling Halftard to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Halftard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vito can do to turn this around?

Halftard's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Vito has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Halftard after a bit of a struggle.
Vito is breathing heavily.

Halftard fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Vito's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bang Vito is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Halftard fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vito manages to avoid it.
A head kick by Vito misses
and Halftard counters with a straight right hand.
Vito throws a leg kick
and Halftard counters with a series of strikes. Vito will be more careful next time no doubt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Halftard drops Vito with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Vito looks back up at him and smiles so Halftard waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Vito is rocked!
Halftard is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Vito switches off momentarily and Halftard cracks him with a monster right hand! Vito topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Halftard dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Halftard!
