Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Tucker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bill Nye! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nye forces Tucker back against the cage and clinches. Nye ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nye no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Nye working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tucker. Nye is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tucker throws a big elbow that misses. Tucker could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Nye seems keen to control Tucker's posture. Nye wants to sweep here but Tucker controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nye looking for subs off his back but Tucker has passed one foot through into half guard.
Tucker lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tucker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nye wants to control but Tucker is keeping busy and won't allow it. Nice strikes from Tucker there. Tucker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nye has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tucker is working away from the top position though. Tucker is trying to work for a kimura but Nye is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nye tries to roll over but Tucker keeps him under control. Tucker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nye blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tucker. Nye is looking for a sweep. Tucker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tucker wants to work for an arm triangle but Nye is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tucker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Nye makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Nye looks winded! Nye shoots for a double leg takedown but Tucker sprawls well. He's pushed Nye's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nye's coach down at London MMA Club was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Nye's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nye checks a low kick from Tucker. Tucker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Nye manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nye throws a counter combo. Nye will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And Tucker counters with a quick kick to the body but Nye blocks it. Tucker throws the kick towards the body but Nye avoids it. Tucker is looking to score with low kicks. Nye gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Nye pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Stephen Tucker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tucker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Nye blocks a body shot from Tucker. Nye swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tucker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nye smiles and moves away.
Nye tries for a takedown but Tucker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Stephen Tucker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Nye. Nye takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Tucker throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Nye throws a body shot but no joy. Tucker rushes Nye and presses him up against the cage. Tucker is trying to break the clinch but Nye has him pressed against the cage. Nye breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tucker misses with a kick to the body.
Nye pushes Tucker up against the cage in a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Stephen Tucker will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
The fight moves into the clinch position. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Nye's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nye shoots in but Tucker avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nye darts in and clinches Tucker up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tucker is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Nye is defending well for now. Nye blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Nye tries to break free but Tucker pushes him back against the cage. Nye wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Nye has hold of one of Tucker's legs. Tucker is fighting the takedown attempt but Nye gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Nye is breathing heavily. Tucker wants to stand up but Nye is controlling him. Tucker keeping full guard, as Nye tries to pass. Nye is looking to work some ground and pound but Tucker has wrist control. Tucker looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nye throws a strike but Tucker rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Tucker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nye controls Tucker momentarily but Tucker frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tucker distracts Nye with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Tucker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nye has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tucker has managed to get both his arms back between Nye's legs - danger averted. Tucker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Nye has momentary wrist control but Tucker slips an elbow through the middle. Tucker working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nye's head. Tucker lands a couple of digs. Tucker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nye is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tucker lands a couple of digs. Nye has momentary wrist control but Tucker slips an elbow through the middle.
Nye is rocked! Tucker gets to his feet and stands over Nye, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Nye felt that one! Tucker unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Nye from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stephen Tucker!
