Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Celio Aravinda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augusto Azevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Azevedo has chosen Welcome To The Jungle as his entrance music. The key to victory for Celio Aravinda has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Celio Aravinda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Augusto Azevedo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Azevedo scores with a takedown into Aravinda's guard. Azevedo looking to pass the guard. Azevedo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Aravinda manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Azevedo has Aravinda in his guard.
Azevedo looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Aravinda has picked Azevedo up and slammed him! Azevedo can't keep hold of the triangle and Aravinda manages to pass to side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Azevedo tries to improve position but can't. Azevedo stops Aravinda from passing to mount. Azevedo looking for a sweep but Aravinda has passed into full mount! Oh no! Azevedo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Aravinda tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Aravinda trying to control but he's not successful this time. Azevedo is working to get back to half guard.

I really don't envy Azevedo right now.
Azevedo tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Azevedo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Aravinda trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aravinda wants to stand but Azevedo is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
We've been hearing good reports from Aravinda's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Azevedo working to try and regain half guard.
Aravinda avoids the attempt from Azevedo to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Aravinda prevents Azevedo from getting the reversal. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Celio Aravinda dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Azevedo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Azevedo sitting and controlling from the half guard. Azevedo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Azevedo content just to control the position here. Azevedo goes for an armbar but Aravinda turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Aravinda. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Azevedo is trying to keep Aravinda in close.
Celio Aravinda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Azevedo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Azevedo throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Azevedo has his foot on Aravinda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Aravinda works his way back into a safe position though. Aravinda got a little sloppy there for a moment and Azevedo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aravinda has managed to get both his arms back between Azevedo's legs - danger averted. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Azevedo is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azevedo is stalling in the full guard. Aravinda keeping full guard, as Azevedo tries to pass. Azevedo controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Azevedo's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Azevedo trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Aravinda manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Azevedo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aravinda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Azevedo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Aravinda is aware though and is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Augusto Azevedo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Aravinda stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aravinda wants it to stay on the feet. Aravinda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Azevedo. Aravinda attempts a counter takedown but Azevedo avoids it well and moves away. Horrible takedown attempt by Azevedo or perhaps it was just good defense by Aravinda, which made it look bad. Celio Aravinda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Augusto Azevedo. Azevedo closes the distance and clinches up with Aravinda, looking for a takedown. Azevedo pushes Aravinda against the cage but Aravinda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Aravinda tries to counter with a takedown but Azevedo is quick to defend against it. Azevedo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aravinda as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aravinda swats away the attempt to clinch by Azevedo. Aravinda leaves Azevedo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Azevedo closes the distance and clinches up with Aravinda, looking for a takedown. Azevedo pushes Aravinda against the cage but Aravinda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Aravinda feinted with a counter takedown. Aravinda displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Azevedo. Aravinda attempts a counter takedown but Azevedo avoids it well and moves away. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Azevedo is defended easily by Aravinda. Azevedo dives in for a single leg takedown but Aravinda sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Azevedo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Azevedo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Aravinda knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Aravinda tries to get to full guard but Azevedo has control of the leg. Aravinda might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Azevedo is taking a breather. Aravinda says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Aravinda is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Azevedo wants to pass to mount but Aravinda is defending the position. Azevedo keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Azevedo is working for a kimura but Aravinda is defending it quite comfortably.
Azevedo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Azevedo in particular looking to stall.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Azevedo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Aravinda sprawls well initially but Azevedo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Aravinda wants to stand back up but Azevedo manages to pass into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Azevedo throws a strike aimed at the side of Aravinda's head but Aravinda avoids it well.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Celio Aravinda. I think Aravinda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
