The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heras clinches.
Heras lands a body shot.

Heras breaks from the clinch.

Roach tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Heras smiles and moves away.

Roach shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Heras is trying to defend but Roach finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Heras is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roach really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Heras pushes Roach off but Roach dives into side control.
Roach slows the pace down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roach fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Roach manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Roach is trying to pull guard but Heras has him pressed against the cage.

Heras rushes Roach and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Roach decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Heras breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Roach avoids the head kick by Heras.
Heras throws a nice outside leg kick.
Heras goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Heras connects with a leg kick. Roach looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Heras gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heras moves into range and clinches up with Roach.

Heras decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Roach shoots in looking for a takedown. Heras tries to sprawl out of it but Roach keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Heras manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Heras moves into the clinch successfully.

Heras forces Roach back against the cage and clinches.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Heras darts in and clinches Roach up against the cage.

Roach breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Heras tries to land a leg kick but Roach saw it coming and moves away.
Roach tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heras sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Roach somewhat.
Heras lands a lovely overhand right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heras throws a head kick but Roach moves out of range.
Roach tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Heras manages to circle out of the way.

Roach fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Heras sprawls well initially but Roach persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Heras pushes Roach off looking to stand but Roach dives back in and keeps control.

Heras is refusing to be controlled, as Roach sits in half guard.
Roach working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Heras pushes Roach off looking to stand but Roach dives back in and keeps control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Roach throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Heras was covering up waiting for the punch and Roach finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Heras wants to get back to his feet but Roach is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Roach engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Roach throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Heras works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Roach trying to control but Heras is working from the bottom.

Heras is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Roach is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Heras rushes Roach and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Roach tries to circle away but Heras has him pinned against the cage.
Roach's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Heras landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Joshua Heras seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Roach is pushing Heras up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Roach tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Roach tries to pull guard but Heras forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Joshua Heras is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Roach is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Heras to keep the fight standing.
