Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nestor Christian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacek Placek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Placek has chosen Jestem Szalencem as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nestor Christian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jacek Placek! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Placek changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Christian tries to avoid it but Placek manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Christian to the ground. Christian escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Christian checks a leg kick. It looked like Christian was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Christian misses with a takedown attempt - Placek sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Placek scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Placek fails with the takedown. Placek tries to score a power double leg takedown but Christian sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Placek somewhat. Nestor Christian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacek Placek. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Christian clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christian pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Placek connects with an inside leg kick. Christian rushes Placek and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Christian pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Christian takes the fight into the clinch. Christian breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Christian really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Placek moves into the clinch. Christian manages to break the clinch.
Placek shoots for a double leg takedown but Christian sprawls well. He's pushed Placek's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Placek has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Christian.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Christian clinches up with Placek and pushes him back against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Christian manages to break the clinch.
Christian shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Placek pinned against the cage. Placek gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Christian looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Placek is fending him off so far but Christian persists. Nope, Placek circles away and we're back to standing. Placek feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Placek stands up and waves to Christian to follow him. Christian shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Placek pinned against the cage. Placek gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Placek missing with a left hand there. Christian was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Christian tries to counter with a takedown but Placek is quick to defend against it. Placek throws a combination that misses and Christian decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Placek's guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Placek manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Christian breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Placek changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Christian looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Placek has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Christian is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Placek yanks on the arm and Christian is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Placek.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jacek Placek! In his post fight interview, Jacek Placek started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
