Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cotton Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaac Wankerl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wankerl has chosen Voodoo Chile by Jimi Hendrix as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cotton Hill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Isaac Wankerl! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill is looking to clinch but Wankerl is avoiding it.
Wankerl moves in looking to clinch but Hill pushes him off. Hill is looking to land body kicks. Hill misses with a looping right. Wankerl blocks a head kick by Hill.
Hill tries to clinch and Wankerl counters by clinching up. Wankerl has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hill avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Wankerl is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Hill pulls guard effortlessly. Hill is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wankerl drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Wankerl jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hill looking to control.
Wankerl avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hill has his foot on Wankerl's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wankerl works his way back into a safe position though. Hill wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Wankerl is now in half guard. Hill won't allow Wankerl to pass to mount. Wankerl is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hill is just riding it out for now. Wankerl eventually gives up the hold. Hill looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hill wants to get back to his feet.
Wankerl passes to full mount! Wankerl throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Hill tries to lock up and control but Wankerl gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Wankerl pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wankerl with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Hill tries to hold on but Wankerl pushes him away. Hill avoids a series of strikes thrown by Wankerl.
Hill is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Hill really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Poor strikes thrown by Wankerl there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wankerl stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Hill loads up on a big right hand but Wankerl slips the punch. Wankerl wants to clinch. Wankerl moves out of range as Hill strikes. Cotton Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hill lands a lovely overhand right. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wankerl decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wankerl looks gassed! Hill won't allow Wankerl to pass to mount. Hill regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Isaac Wankerl dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Wankerl bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hill is trying to control Wankerl's posture but Wankerl avoids it. Wankerl is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hill has escaped the position, nice work there. Hill gets back to half guard. Hill is trying to maintain the position but Wankerl is very close to passing his half guard. Wankerl prevents Hill from improving his position. Wankerl is breathing heavily. Wankerl is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wankerl is looking to advance position but Hill won't allow it. Hill tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Wankerl tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hill paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hill tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hill misses with a looping right. Hill gets a takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wankerl is staying active underneath Hill, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Wankerl is trying to get back to full guard. Hill working the head and body with strikes. Hill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wankerl does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Wankerl wants to improve his position but Hill is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wankerl gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hill counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hill is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wankerl sees it coming and defends easily. Hill wants to take a breather but Wankerl is having none of it. Hill content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hill is trying to control the action in half guard but Wankerl is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wankerl wants to get back to full guard. Hill trying to control the action but Wankerl is working from the bottom. Hill missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hill is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hill shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Wankerl keeping moving, preventing Hill from controlling successfully. Hill postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Cotton Hill dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Hill works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Wankerl circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hill swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wankerl. Hill feints and as Wankerl raises his hands in defense, Hill changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wankerl trying to control the position.
Cotton Hill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wankerl is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hill throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hill stopping the sweep attempt from Wankerl. Wankerl takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wankerl is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hill makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Wankerl utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hill wanted to stand there but Wankerl had control of the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hill tries to close the distance and clinch but Wankerl swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hill has his takedown stuffed and Wankerl counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hill's guard now. Wankerl stays in close to Hill's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hill looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Wankerl passes into half guard.
Hill avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wankerl. Wankerl trying to control the action but Hill is working from the bottom. Hill wants to sweep but Wankerl has passed to side control! Wankerl wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hill, who protects the arm well. Wankerl working away.

Hill is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Wankerl pulls his head out easily. Wankerl is looking to advance position but Hill won't allow it. Hill tries to kick Wankerl off but Wankerl keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Wankerl is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Wankerl is thwarting Hill's attempts to control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Isaac Wankerl comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Wankerl has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
