Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bendigo Ketchal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ketchal comes to the cage accompanied by Happy Birthday. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bendigo Ketchal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Martinez! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ketchal wants to control but Martinez is keeping busy and won't allow it. Martinez wants to stand but Ketchal has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Ketchal wants to improve his position but Martinez is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ketchal is holding on to half guard well. Ketchal moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ketchal wriggles free and stands up. Ketchal misses with a takedown and Martinez counters with a series of strikes. Ketchal will be more careful next time no doubt. Martinez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ketchal to the mat! Ketchal manages to get full guard. Ketchal throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ketchal is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Ketchal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ketchal is breathing heavily. Martinez is working Ketchal over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ketchal has Martinez pulled in close to control his posture. Martinez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ketchal looking to hit a scissor sweep but Martinez is one step ahead there. Ketchal wants to get back to his feet but Martinez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Martinez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ketchal backs up against the cage.
Ketchal darts in trying to clinch and Martinez counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ketchal gets a takedown into half guard. Martinez wants to get back to his feet.
Martinez tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Martinez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ketchal is taking a breather. Martinez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ketchal swats him away and circles back towards the center. Martinez shoots for a double leg takedown but Ketchal sprawls well. He's pushed Martinez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Martinez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Ketchal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ketchal tries to hold on but Martinez postures up. Ketchal slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Ketchal holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Martinez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ketchal keeps working. Ketchal keeping control of the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jose Martinez will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ketchal shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ketchal was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The referee warns Martinez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ketchal looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Martinez wants to try and get back to his feet. Martinez manages to regain half guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ketchal wants to work for an arm triangle but Martinez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Martinez wants to get back to full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Martinez is refusing to be controlled, as Ketchal sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ketchal lands a nice short elbow. Martinez manages to get to full guard.
Ketchal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Martinez being controlled here, momentarily. Ketchal won't allow Martinez to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Martinez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ketchal wants to control from the top but Martinez keeps moving. Ketchal is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Ketchal passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ketchal content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Ketchal advances to full mount. Ketchal quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Ketchal but it's paid off an Martinez is forced to tap! Nice work by Ketchal.
