Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bendigo Ketchal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ketchal comes to the cage accompanied by Happy Birthday. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martinez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ketchal wants to control but Martinez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Martinez wants to stand but Ketchal has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Ketchal wants to improve his position but Martinez is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ketchal is taking a breather. Martinez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ketchal swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Martinez shoots for a double leg takedown but Ketchal sprawls well. He's pushed Martinez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
