The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kurks fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Raul, pushing him back against the cage.
Kurks is pressed up against the cage. Raul has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kurks down to the mat. Kurks avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Raul fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kurks sprawls well initially but Raul persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Raul is looking to advance position but Kurks won't allow it.

Kurks looking for submissions off his back.
Raul seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kurks wants to control but Raul is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Raul stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kurks regains full guard. Nicely done.

Raul got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kurks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Raul has managed to get both his arms back between Kurks's legs - danger averted.

Kurks has his feet on Raul's thighs here. He's pushed Raul off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Raul screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
