The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Willis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Newton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Willis, who protects the arm well.
Newton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Willis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Willis is trying to escape the position but Newton is controlling the position.
Newton advances to full mount.
Newton is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Willis to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Willis shrugs it off.
Newton is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Willis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Willis defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Newton.

Newton working for a submission but Willis is keeping him at bay.
Newton is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Willis has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Newton fails to move to back control.
Willis is desperately trying to improve his position but Newton has a good base and remains in mount.
Newton tries to control but Willis wriggling away.
Newton is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Newton extends the arm and Willis is forced to tap!
