Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Olson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Ian Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Will Olson!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Olson has closed the distance and engaged Lang in a clinch.
Olson is trying to break free.
Lang is pushing Olson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Olson gets underhooks to prevent Lang's takedown attempt.

Olson decides to pull guard.

Olson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Olson pulls guard successfully.
Lang trying to control but Olson is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Olson wants to get back to his feet but Lang is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Olson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Lang stands and steps away. Olson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Olson misses with a double jab.
Olson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Lang is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Nice body punch from Olson.
Sloppy strikes from Olson. Those never looked like landing.
Lang is looking to counter with a body kick.
Olson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lang is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Olson.
Lang circles away from the clinch attempt.

Olson drops Lang with a nice combination! Olson dives into Lang's guard, looking to finish!


It looks like Ian Lang has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lang wants to sweep here but Olson controlling him for the moment.

Lang is working an open guard so Olson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Lang tries to score a power double leg takedown but Olson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lang somewhat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lang looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Olson is fending him off so far but Lang persists. Nope, Olson circles away and we're back to standing.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Olson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ian Lang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lang avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Lang swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Olson has Lang up against the cage in a clinch.

Lang keeps control of Olson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lang trying to control the position but instead, Olson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lang into the cage.

Lang prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lang really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Olson is trying to break the clinch but Lang has him pressed against the cage.
Lang keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Olson's efforts to push away.

Lang prevents a takedown attempt there.
Olson wants to get back to striking at distance but Lang won't allow it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lang is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Olson to keep the fight standing.

Olson gets control of Lang's arms and successfully pulls guard. Olson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lang decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Oooh a lovely combination from Olson sends Lang down but not out. Olson dives into side control looking to finish.


Lang is rocked!

Olson decides to stand back up.
Oh Lang is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Olson knocks Lang out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Will Olson!
