Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Paris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pit Mies! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paris is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mies's half guard. Mies is trying to stand up here but Paris is controlling him well. Mies is staying active underneath Paris, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Paris connects with a nice short shot to Mies's temple. Mies looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Paris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mies keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paris is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mies doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Paris. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mies should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Paris is looking for a kimura.
