Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rolando Mcclain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauro Salas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rolando Mcclain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauro Salas!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid body kick from Salas.

Oooooh!!! Salas has knocked Mcclain down with a huge combo! Salas steps away and waves a wobbly Mcclain back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Rolando Mcclain has been cut.

Salas instigates a clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Mcclain is looking to break free of the clinch but Salas has double underhooks.
Salas being controlled against the cage.
Mcclain wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Salas has him pressed against the cage.
Salas keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mcclain's efforts to push away.

Salas jumps guard and drags Mcclain to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Salas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Mcclain stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Salas throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Salas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mcclain to the ground. Salas is now in Mcclain's guard.
Mcclain is wriggling around but Salas manages to pass to half guard.

Salas not doing much here.

Salas is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Salas is keen to just control but Mcclain is a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Salas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mcclain sees it coming and defends easily.
Salas slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salas moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Mcclain.
Salas moves into full mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mcclain is in all sorts of trouble here.
Salas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mcclain is looking to escape.

Salas moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Mcclain has worked his arm free - good work by Mcclain!

Salas has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Salas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mcclain on his heels. He'll look to pass Mcclain's guard now, I'm sure.

Mcclain scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Mcclain dives in and grabs Salas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Salas pushes down on Mcclain's head and hops out.
Salas appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Salas forces Mcclain back against the cage and clinches.

Salas pulls guard effortlessly.

Salas throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mcclain escapes and throws Salas's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Mcclain is trying to get an arm triangle but Salas is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mauro Salas dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rolando Mcclain's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Salas closes the distance and pushes Mcclain back into the cage.

Mcclain has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Salas uses from the top position.

Salas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Salas stands and throws Mcclain's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcclain is trying to improve his position.

Salas is looking to take a break and control but Mcclain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Salas tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Mcclain is not content to let Salas control the position.
Salas taking a break here but Mcclain is having none of it and regains half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Salas throwing shots but Mcclain is blocking nicely.
Salas is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Salas controlling the position easily from mount.

Salas lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Salas goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mcclain is on top in guard.
Salas trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Salas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Salas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Mcclain could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Salas wants to control the position but Mcclain says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Salas tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Mcclain manages to move to mount!
Mcclain tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Salas tries to lock up and control but Mcclain gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mcclain looking to control but Salas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mcclain get's back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rolando Mcclain will probably get the nod.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Salas slaps away a takedown attempt from Mcclain, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Salas throws a head kick but Mcclain moves out of range.
Mcclain seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Salas darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Mcclain makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcclain fails with an attempt to clinch.

Salas closes the distance and clinches.

Salas pulls guard successfully.
Salas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mcclain manages to get himself to full guard.

Mcclain will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Salas postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Mcclain to stand up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcclain enables Salas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcclain manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Salas is looking to take a break and control but Mcclain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Mcclain won't allow Salas to pass to mount.
Salas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Salas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mcclain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Salas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Salas is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Salas decides to return to a standing position.

Salas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Salas is looking to sweep but instead, Mcclain has passed into half guard.
Salas is in trouble now - Mcclain has advanced to mount!
Salas regains half guard.

Mcclain decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Salas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Salas with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mcclain might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mauro Salas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Salas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
