Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Liam Christopher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benny Breese! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Breese is defended easily by Christopher. It looked like Christopher wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Christopher blocks a head kick by Breese.

Christopher lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Nice sprawl there from Christopher as Breese shoots in. Christopher wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Christopher tries to clinch there but Breese circles away.
Breese fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Christopher, pushing him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Breese breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Breese has Christopher up against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Breese throws an elbow but misses. Breese pressing his opponent against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christopher wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Breese has him pressed against the cage. Breese taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Breese breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Breese throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Christopher's waist but Christopher gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Breese off to one side. Christopher seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Liam Christopher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Breese. A jab from Breese misses. Nice sprawl there from Breese as Christopher shoots in. Nice takedown defense from Breese. No joy for Christopher on that attempt. Breese has managed to clinch.
Breese escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Breese throws a sloppy head kick and Christopher moves out of range easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Breese throws a head kick that misses. Christopher wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Christopher looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Breese throws out a counter right but Christopher avoids it with no problem. Christopher lands with an uppercut that bounces Breese off the cage and back into range. Christopher moves to clinch but Breese breaks away and Breese counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Breese. Christopher has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Breese is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A frustrated look appears on Christopher's face as he tries to break the clinch. Christopher manages to break the clinch.
Breese dives in for a single leg takedown but Christopher sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Christopher wants to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Some bone on bone action there as Breese checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Christopher defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Breese. Christopher misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Breese.
Christopher misses with a takedown and Breese counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Christopher thinking. Christopher swings away with a leg kick that misses. Breese shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Christopher as he avoids it easily. It looked like Christopher wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Christopher tries to close the distance and clinch but Breese swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Breese dodges the punch combination from Christopher.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Breese is leaning against Christopher and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Breese turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Christopher throws Breese to one side and escapes! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Christopher cracks Breese with an open hand slap. Breese shoots in and bounces Christopher off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Christopher is pulling down on Breese's head to control his posture. Breese trying to move into half guard but instead Christopher has managed to sweep!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Liam Christopher will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

He's pushed Breese's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Christopher went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Breese fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Liam Christopher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Breese. Breese throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Christopher tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Breese is in Christopher's guard. Breese trying to control the position from guard on top but Christopher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Breese throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Christopher works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Christopher looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Christopher keeping moving, preventing Breese from controlling successfully. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Christopher avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Christopher looks to land a combination but Breese avoids it well. Breese misses with a wild body shot. Christopher tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Breese manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Breese gets in close and instigates a clinch. Christopher tries for a takedown. No joy.
Christopher has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Breese scores with a shoulder strike. Breese manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Breese is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Breese can do anything to dispel that myth. Breese is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Liam Christopher overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Christopher keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Breese's head. Breese being controlled here, momentarily. Christopher wants to control from the top but Breese keeps moving. Breese had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Christopher defends it easily. Christopher trying to control but Breese is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Christopher slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Christopher trying to control the position from guard on top but Breese is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Christopher is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Breese is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Christopher seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Christopher misses with the combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Breese fails to land the takedown. Christopher misses with a hook. Breese tries to counter by closing the distance. Christopher fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Christopher moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Christopher throws a series of punches but Breese avoids them all with ease. Breese looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Christopher throws a big counter combination but Breese scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Christopher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Breese pinned against the cage. Breese gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Liam Christopher will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Christopher wants to control from the top but Breese keeps moving. Christopher is really struggling to control Breese but he's trying to hold on to the position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Breese is on top in guard.
Breese wants to pass the guard but Christopher is keeping the position. Breese connects with a couple of short punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Breese works a leg free and moves into half guard. Breese stands up out of the half guard. Breese pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Breese misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A momentary lapse in concentration from Christopher enables Breese to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Christopher manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Breese trying to control the position from guard on top but Christopher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Breese stands up from Christopher's guard - Breese perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Breese fails miserably with a takedown attempt. It looked like Christopher wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Liam Christopher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Breese. Breese takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Breese shoots for a takedown but Christopher saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Christopher with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Breese is trying to drag Christopher to the mat but Christopher just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Breese is pushing Christopher up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Breese is looking for a takedown. Benny Breese has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Liam Christopher is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Breese breaks the clinch.
