Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rhet Bart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Stacey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bart comes to the cage accompanied by My Name Is Not A Pun by The Generic Indie Band 28. Rhet Bart has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rhet Bart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Stacey! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stacey throws a sloppy head kick and Bart moves out of range easily. Stacey closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Stacey is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bart changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stacey fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stacey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bart blocks a head kick by Stacey.
Stacey gets a takedown into half guard. Bart keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stacey sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bart defending well though. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stacey connects with a nice short shot to Bart's temple. Bart is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stacey's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stacey's back! Bart is trying to stick to Stacey's back but Stacey is turning into Bart. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Bart's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Stacey. Stacey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stacey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Stacey postures up and lands a big shot to Bart's brow. Bart is breathing heavily. Stacey trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Stacey landing some decent shots from guard. Stacey wants to control from the top but Bart keeps moving. Stacey pushing down on Bart's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bart trying to control but Stacey postures up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stacey lands a nice short elbow. Stacey tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bart knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Stacey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Stacey missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stacey lands strikes from half guard. Ground and pound from Stacey. Stacey controlling the action here. Stacey trying to control the action but Bart is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stacey slows the pace down in half guard. Stacey looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Bart avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stacey. Stacey thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Bart has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stacey is working away from the top position though. Stacey content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Stacey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bart keeps working. Stacey lands with a punch from half guard. Stacey works his way into side control. Stacey scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bart to see if he's OK. Stacey scoring with punches and elbows. Stacey staying calm. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lee Stacey dominated that round. That's time! Bart's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Stacey darts in and clinches Bart up against the cage. Stacey with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Bart tries to pull guard but Stacey won't allow it.

Rhet Bart is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Stacey moves into the clinch successfully.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bart trying to stall but Stacey improves his position.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rhet Bart. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Stacey scores with a knee to the head.

Bart escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lee Stacey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stacey tries a head kick but it misses.
Bart fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Stacey. Stacey throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Stacey throws a leg kick which misses Bart's front leg but catches the back leg as Bart tries to avoid it. Bart closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Stacey manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stacey is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Bart is refusing to be controlled, as Stacey sits in half guard. Stacey is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Stacey throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Stacey scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Stacey slows the pace down in half guard. Stacey trying to pass the guard but Bart defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bart is refusing to be controlled, as Stacey sits in half guard. Bart looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Stacey passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bart! Stacey landing shots from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Stacey fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Stacey avoids the attempt from Bart to control. Stacey is landing with some decent strikes but Bart is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Bart takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. The referee warns Bart that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Lee Stacey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Stacey trying to control but Bart is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bart keeping full guard, as Stacey tries to pass. Stacey throws and elbow that misses. Bart uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stacey's guard. Nice move by Bart! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stacey can do anything to dispel that myth. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stacey throwing short punches from the bottom. Stacey throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stacey tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bart paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stacey scores with a leg kick.
Stacey rushes Bart and presses him up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Stacey drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bart tightens his grip and picks Stacey up, before dumping him to the ground. Stacey manages to land in guard. Stacey tries to strike from the bottom.

Stacey looking for a sweep. Not yet Stacey, not yet. Stacey is trying to hold Bart in close to prevent damage but Bart has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Stacey manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bart preventing the sweep. Stacey has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bart is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stacey. Stacey is trying to control Bart's posture but Bart avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stacey sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Stacey manages to get to full guard.
Stacey thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bart trying to control the position from guard on top but Stacey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stacey tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stacey doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Lee Stacey has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Stacey doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Stacey is striking but Bart is not phased and passes to half guard. Stacey flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Stacey is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bart's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bart's back! Bart has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Stacey. Stacey scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Lee Stacey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bart is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Bart misses with a takedown and Stacey counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rhet Bart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bart misses with a takedown attempt and Stacey counters with a head kick. That will keep Bart thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rhet Bart. Well Stacey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
