Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iain Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reilly is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dubliners - Fields of Athenry. Iain Reilly is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Iain Reilly!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson loads up on a big right hand but Reilly slips the punch.
Jackson throws a hook to the side of Reilly's head but Reilly sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reilly was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson.

Reilly cracks a nice hook into Jackson's ribs.
Reilly looks to score with a jab to the body but Jackson is just out of range.
Jackson dodges the punch combination from Reilly.
Jackson was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Horrible takedown attempt by Reilly or perhaps it was just good defense by Jackson, which made it look bad.
Jackson misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reilly throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jackson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Jackson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Reilly keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Jackson counters with a stiff right hand.
Jackson drops his hands momentarily and Reilly takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Reilly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jackson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Reilly slips under a jab.
Reilly doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Reilly misses with an uppercut.
Jackson lands a nice looking body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Reilly, as that shot connected.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jackson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Reilly on the side of the head.

and Jackson counters with a straight right hand.

As Reilly tries to get set, Jackson tries to push him back and clinch up but Reilly manages to avoid the attempt.

Jackson is looking to counter the offense by Reilly and move into the clinch.

The crowd cheers as Jackson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Reilly doesn't seem phased though.

Reilly moves out of range as Jackson strikes.
Reilly is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jackson had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Reilly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jackson.

Reilly ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jackson moves away.
Jackson throws a body shot but no joy.
Reilly avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Nice uppercut lands for Jackson. That snapped Reilly's head back.

Jackson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Reilly to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Reilly postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Reilly is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control.

Reilly wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Reilly postures up.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Reilly in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reilly accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Reilly postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Reilly must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jackson is breathing heavily.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Reilly working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jackson's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jackson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Reilly.

Reilly missing with a left hand there. Jackson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Reilly decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Reilly not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reilly is working away from the top position though.

Oh Jackson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Reilly working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Reilly lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Jackson quite badly. Jackson pulls Reilly in close trying to recover. Reilly postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Jackson on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Jackson doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iain Reilly!
A relieved looking Iain Reilly thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
