Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marco Tomassoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomassoni fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Diaz.

Tomassoni moves into range and clinches up with Diaz.
Diaz takes a knee right on the jaw!

Tomassoni breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Diaz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Diaz moves out of range as Tomassoni strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Diaz in particular looking to stall.

Diaz wants to pass the guard but Tomassoni is defending well.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Tomassoni might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tomassoni is concentrating on defense, preventing Diaz from advancing position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tomassoni shoots for a double leg takedown but Diaz sprawls well. He's pushed Tomassoni's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tomassoni sprawls well. Tomassoni wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.

Tomassoni has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Diaz uses from the top position.

Tomassoni has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diaz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As Diaz looks to move away, Tomassoni throws a big counter combo but Diaz just gets out of the way.

Diaz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Tomassoni passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

Diaz drives through and clinches with Tomassoni against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Diaz postures up.
Tomassoni is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Diaz is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Diaz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tomassoni manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Diaz has Tomassoni in his guard.

Tomassoni's corner is telling him to maintain position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marco Tomassoni showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tomassoni has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
