Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Briggs gets caught flat footed, as Madden shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Briggs looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Briggs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Madden wants to control from the top but Briggs keeps moving.
Madden controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Madden tries to free his leg and advance position but Briggs is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Madden is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Madden has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Madden drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Briggs manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Madden has Briggs in his guard.

Madden wants the takedown. Briggs is fighting it off but Madden persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Briggs's guard against the cage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Briggs looks for a takedown but Madden sprawls well.
Briggs shoots in but Madden avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Madden. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Madden closes the distance and pushes Briggs back into the cage.
Briggs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Madden gets the takedown into side control.

Briggs misses with a takedown attempt - Madden sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucien Briggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Briggs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Madden is fending him off so far but Briggs persists. Nope, Madden circles away and we're back to standing.
Madden lands a body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Madden takes the fight into the clinch.
Briggs will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Madden up against the cage.

Madden wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Briggs has him pressed against the cage.
Briggs tries to stall but Madden uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Madden misses with a knee strike.

Madden has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Briggs regains guard immediately.
Briggs has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Madden off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Madden closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Madden lands in his opponent's guard.
Madden gets to his feet - Briggs follows without any prompting.
Madden gets the takedown into side control.
The strikes coming from Madden are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Briggs takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Briggs is rocked!
Madden moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Madden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Madden is looking to take a break and control but Briggs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Madden advances to full mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Madden cracks Briggs with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
