Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raja Wijaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaka Baring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baring has chosen Goyang Dumang as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raja Wijaya!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jaka Baring!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Darius Henderson and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baring tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wijaya was well out of range. Poor timing from Baring.
Baring stuffs the takedown attempt from Wijaya. Wijaya gets slowly back to his feet.
Baring uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Wijaya shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Baring's guard.
Wijaya postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Baring wants to stand and escape but Wijaya is having none of it.
Baring is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wijaya postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Baring is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Wijaya throws a strike but Baring rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Baring is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Baring content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Wijaya has locked up a guillotine! Wijaya's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Baring is holding on here and Wijaya must be using up a lot of energy. Baring has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Wijaya gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
