Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Rico Cole was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nathan Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rico Cole! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cole throws out a loose jab but Griffin uses good head movement to avoid it. Griffin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cole was well out of range. Poor timing from Griffin. Griffin throws a big shot that misses. Cole misses the shot to the body. Griffin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cole comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Cole throws a leg kick and Griffin cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Cole fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Griffin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cole throws a head kick but Griffin moves out of range.
Griffin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Griffin defending well as Cole loads up on a big left hand. Griffin scores with a jab. Cole acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Cole's coach down at ~T~ Troid - Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Cole's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Cole throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Griffin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Cole looks to land a combination. Griffin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Cole throws a big shot that misses. Griffin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Griffin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cole swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Griffin was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Griffin misses with a body shot

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Griffin throws a hook to the side of Cole's head but Cole sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Griffin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cole.

Cole missing with a left hand there. Griffin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Cole throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Griffin went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Cole. Griffin shrugs it off though. Griffin ducks under a wild hook from Cole. Griffin throws a series of punches but Cole avoids them all with ease. Griffin misses with a wild combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Griffin moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Cole scores with a jab. Griffin throws a hook but Cole blocks it. A big left from Griffin misses. Griffin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Griffin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. A looping hook to the body misses from Cole. Griffin does a little dance to reset his feet. Cole misses with a body kick. Griffin misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Cole counters with a nice low kick that buckles Griffin's knee momentarily. Cole misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Griffin.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cole throws a sloppy head kick and Griffin moves out of range easily. Cole scores with a punch to the head. Cole looks to score with a jab to the body but Griffin is just out of range. Griffin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Griffin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cole circles away quickly and effectively. Griffin looks to land a left hand but Cole moved out of range nicely. Cole throws a nice inside leg kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Good standup being displayed there by Griffin as he connects with a hook. Cole misses with a wild body shot. Cole dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Griffin. That did some damage! Griffin throws a looping overhand right but Cole ducks down to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Rico Cole will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Griffin thows a left - swing and a miss! Nathan Griffin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cole throws a shot from downtown. Griffin moves away and avoids it. Griffin lands with a good body shot. Cole avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cole was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cole chopping away at his opponent's legs.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin scores with a one two! Cole had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Cole connects with a leg kick. Griffin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Cole scores with a shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Griffin lands with a nice body punch. Griffin throws the left hand but Cole avoids the punch easily. As Griffin backs off Cole throws a huge counter combo but Griffin manages to avoid it all. A big left from Cole misses. A big left from Cole misses. Cole misses with a lunging right hand
and Griffin counters with a series of strikes. Cole will be more careful next time no doubt. Cole throws a leg kick which misses Griffin's front leg but catches the back leg as Griffin tries to avoid it. Griffin misses with a double jab

Griffin throws a big counter combination but Cole scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Cole misses with an uppercut. Griffin saw that one coming. Griffin tries to bum rush Cole with a series of wild strikes but Cole uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Griffin takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Griffin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Cole throws a leg kick which misses Griffin's front leg but catches the back leg as Griffin tries to avoid it. Cole lands with a kick to the temple. Griffin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Griffin throws a shot from downtown. Cole moves away and avoids it. Cole scoring well with a low kick there.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nathan Griffin will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Griffin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cole. Cole tries to land a body kick and Griffin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Cole swings for the body but Griffin moves out of range.

Cole rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cole takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A telegraphed right hand from Griffin misses the target. Griffin tries to bum rush Cole with a series of wild strikes but Cole uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cole feints a counter leg kick. Cole throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Griffin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cole scores with a sloppy right hand. Griffin should have avoided that one. Griffin fails to land with a series of punches.

and Cole makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Cole throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Griffin on the side of the head. A leg kick checked by Griffin. Cole misses with an uppercut
and Cole takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cole jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Griffin.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cole takes one on the button. Cole cracks Griffin with an open hand slap. Griffin moves out of range as Cole strikes. Cole with a body punch. A glancing blow.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rico Cole. I think Cole has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
