Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Helo Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bing Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boom has chosen NokiSowa as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Helo Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bing Boom!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stevens tries to clinch there but Boom circles away.
Stevens is looking to clinch.
Stevens stuffs the takedown.
Stevens lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Bing Boom has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A head kick misses from Boom.
Boom circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boom looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Boom fails to land the takedown.
Helo Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bing Boom.

Boom gets the takedown into side control.
Stevens misses with a strike from the bottom.
Stevens on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stevens tries to get out of the position.

Boom has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Stevens throws a nice looking combination but Boom bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boom paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Boom tries to pull guard but Stevens won't allow it.

Boom pulls Stevens into guard.
Stevens working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Boom's head.
Stevens in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Stevens postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Stevens has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Boom is proving hard to escape from.
Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Boom is retaining full guard.
Stevens missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Stevens throwing strikes from guard but Boom blocks nicely.
Stevens advances position into side control!
Boom manages to get back to half guard.
Stevens lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Stevens not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Stevens tries to stand but can't do so whilst Boom controls his leg.
Boom regains full guard. Nicely done.

Boom is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boom has momentary wrist control but Stevens slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stevens wanted to stand there but Boom had control of the position.
Stevens won't allow Boom to sweep him here.
Stevens working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Stevens has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Boom escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stevens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Stevens passes Boom's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Boom tries to get to full guard but Stevens has control of the leg.
Boom moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Stevens decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Stevens rushes Boom and presses him up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boom tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stevens just stands there and leans against the cage.
A short uppercut from Stevens.
Boom has Stevens pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stevens manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Boom tries to pull guard but Stevens holds him up against the cage and eventually Boom drops back down to his feet.
Stevens taking a breather.

Stevens breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Boom shoots in and bounces Stevens off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stevens is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boom is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stevens's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stevens's back!

Boom is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Stevens defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Boom tries to keep control of the position but Stevens is staying busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Helo Stevens dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bing Boom's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Stevens misses with a few strikes there.
Boom keeps the fight on the outside.
Boom fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stevens is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Boom shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stevens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Boom shoots in for a double leg but Stevens sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Helo Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bing Boom.

Stevens is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Boom had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stevens is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Boom Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stevens's back instead.

Boom is persistently looking for the submission but Stevens is defending it well.

Stevens is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Stevens defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Boom's arms.

Bing Boom has got the better of the ground game so far.

Boom has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Stevens has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Stevens is trying to shake Boom off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Boom won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

Bing Boom showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Boom shoots in and drives through. Stevens sprawls well.
Stevens closes the distance but Boom moves to the side
and Boom counters with a head kick.

Boom is trying to break free.
Stevens gets underhooks to prevent Boom's takedown attempt.
Stevens presses Boom against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Stevens wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Boom trying to control the position but instead, Stevens has worked for underhooks and has pushed Boom into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boom drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stevens pulls his leg out and moves away.
Helo Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bing Boom.

and Boom makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Stevens misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Stevens tries to clinch there but Boom circles away.
Stevens is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Boom.

Stevens rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Helo Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch but Boom swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Boom drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Stevens wants to get back to his feet but Boom is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Boom looking to pass the guard.

Stevens looking for a sweep. Not yet Stevens, not yet.
Stevens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stevens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Boom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stevens swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stevens wants to stand but Boom is controlling the position.
Boom sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stevens's guard.

Boom seems to be looking for submissions.

Boom is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Boom looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stevens tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Boom has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
You get the feeling that Stevens really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Boom is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Boom keeps the fight on the outside.

Boom shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Boom stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Boom shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stevens moves in looking to clinch but Boom pushes him off.
Boom misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stevens fails with an attempt to clinch.
Stevens misses with a double jab.
Helo Stevens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Boom fails with the takedown.

Boom gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Stevens makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Boom is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Stevens gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
A bit of stalling here from Stevens.
Boom tries for a takedown. No joy.
A nice right hand lands inside from Stevens.

Stevens breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Stevens gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Stevens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Boom's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bing Boom comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Boom has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
