Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Hardacre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hess's entrance music is Demiurge. A fine choice. Jon Hess could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Damian Hardacre's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
38 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Hess! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Hardacre! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hess thows a leg kick but Hardacre checks it and Hardacre counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Hess throws a jab when Hardacre was well out of range. Hardacre is looking for the big counter here. Hess throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hess moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Hardacre lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Hardacre ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hess moves away. Hardacre lands with a shot to the body. Hess throws a body punch but Hardacre moves out of range. Hardacre connects with the punch. Hardacre comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Hess. Hardacre does a little dance to reset his feet. Hardacre slips under a jab. Hardacre let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Hess looks to land a right hand but Hardacre moved out of range. Hess throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hardacre sees it coming and avoids it easily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A swing and a miss from Hess. Hess throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Hardacre counters with a low kick, right behind Hess 's knee. A punch lands to the side of Hess 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Jon Hess has been cut. Hardacre has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hardacre is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hess rather than just go for the knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hess moves out of range of the body kick. It looked like Hess wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hardacre, as that shot connected.
Hardacre throws a head kick that misses. Jon Hess seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hardacre turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Hess takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Hardacre swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Hardacre counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hess looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Hess is breathing heavily. Hess checks a leg kick. Hess throwing a counter right hand but Hardacre manages to avoid it. Hardacre is looking to slow Hess down with leg kicks. Hardacre swings for the body but Hess moves out of range.

Hess lands with a kick to the temple. Hardacre shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Hardacre throws the kick towards the body but Hess avoids it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hardacre lands a slapping body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A solid leg kick lands there for Hess.

Hess throws a lazy head kick and Hardacre counters with a straight right hand. Hardacre throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hardacre throws a body punch but Hess moves out of range. Hess tries a head kick but it misses.
Hardacre connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hess. Hess circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Jon Hess's cut is getting worse. Hess pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Hardacre only half commits to the counter leg kick. Hardacre blocks the body kick.
Hardacre connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Hess! He's out on his feet! Hardacre rushes in and drops Hess with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Damian Hardacre! Damian Hardacre is the new heavyweight champion! Damian Hardacre decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
