Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carlos Ferreira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vilat Wan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Wan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ferreira swings for the body but Wan moves out of range.
And Wan tries to counter it with a takedown but Ferreira pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Wan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ferreira as he avoids it easily.
Ferreira misses with a looping left.
Jab by Ferreira.
Ferreira throws a series of punches but Wan moves out of range.
Wan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ferreira sprawls well. Ferreira wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wan gets slowly back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferreira throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wan on the side of the head.
Carlos Ferreira is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ferreira scores with a shot to the body.
Ferreira stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ferreira wants it to stay on the feet.
Carlos Ferreira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vilat Wan.
Ferreira shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wan eats them both and turns towards Ferreira to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

A swing and a miss from Ferreira.
Wan feints the counter takedown.
Ferreira has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Ferreira lands a really nice looking cross but Wan seems unphased.
Ferreira throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ferreira looks to land a combination but Wan avoids it well.
Wan changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Ferreira throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wan with the counter takedown but Ferreira avoids it easily.
Wan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ferreira sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ferreira makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ferreira thuds his right hand into Wan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Wan dives in and grabs Ferreira's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ferreira pushes down on Wan's head and hops out.
Ferreira is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Wan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Ferreira connects with a nice looking jab.


Wan is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ferreira drops Wan with a naaaaasty hook - Wan is in real trouble here! Ferreira dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Ferreira!
