Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Blair Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alfed Arkes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arkes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reeves was well out of range. Poor timing from Arkes.
Arkes closes the distance and pushes Reeves back into the cage.
Arkes lands with a short shot to the head.
Arkes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Reeves tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Reeves looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Reeves is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Arkes swats away the attempt to clinch by Reeves.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Arkes scores with a push kick.
Reeves avoids the head kick by Arkes.
It looked like Reeves was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Arkes fails to land with a series of punches.
Reeves is looking to counter the offense by Arkes and move into the clinch.
Alfed Arkes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Arkes pushes Reeves up against the cage in a clinch.
Reeves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Arkes breaks the clinch.
A combination from Arkes does no damage.
Arkes clinches up with Reeves and pushes him back against the cage.
Reeves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Arkes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Reeves misses with the head strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reeves changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Arkes fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Arkes lands a big head kick that sends Reeves to the canvas! Arkes follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alfed Arkes!
