Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dylan Todd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Bourne! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, William Gold and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Todd tries to clinch up. Todd throws a shot from downtown. Bourne moves away and avoids it. Bourne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Bourne is looking to slow Todd down with leg kicks. A head kick by Bourne misses and Todd counters with a takedown into side control. Todd is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bourne is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Todd working away. Bourne is looking for a sweep. Bourne sneaks back into half guard. Todd wants to take a breather but Bourne is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Todd perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Bourne is trying to stand.
Todd decides to return to a standing position. Bourne lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Dylan Todd has been cut. Andrew Bourne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Todd fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Bourne tries a head kick but it misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bourne has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bourne throws a nice outside leg kick. Bourne scores with a hook. Bourne dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Todd. That did some damage! Bourne steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Todd. That one must have hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Todd tries for a takedown but Bourne sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Todd is breathing heavily. Bourne lands with a kick to the temple. Todd shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Todd looks to land a combination but Bourne avoids it well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Todd moves forwards but Bourne connects with a nice, crisp jab. Todd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bourne. Todd feinted with a counter takedown. Todd gets tackled into the cage by Bourne. Bourne maintains the clinch. Bourne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Todd tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bourne defends well and Todd ends up having to push Bourne into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dylan Todd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bourne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Bourne misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Todd.

A frustrated look appears on Bourne's face as he tries to break the clinch. Todd has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bourne after a bit of a struggle.

Todd swings around for an armbar but Bourne sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Todd's guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Bourne keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Todd's head. Bourne distracts Todd with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Bourne is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Bourne is in close to Todd's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bourne landing some decent shots from guard. Bourne wants to get up but he can't break Todd's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Todd pushes Bourne off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Bourne dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dylan Todd's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bourne moves out of range of the body kick. Todd shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bourne as he jumps to the side. Todd closes the distance and clinches up with Bourne, looking for a takedown. Todd pushes Bourne against the cage but Bourne circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bourne tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Todd manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Todd half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Andrew Bourne seems to be getting the better of the standup. Todd shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bourne sprawls well. Bourne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Todd gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dylan Todd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bourne rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Todd moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bourne tries to clinch but Todd moves out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bourne fails with an attempt to clinch.
That kick from Bourne tenderised Todd's leg. Todd is trying to keep his angry face on. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bourne fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Todd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bourne counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Bourne finds it's way through Todd's defenses. Todd tries to clinch but Bourne is having none of it. Bourne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Bourne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bourne is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Bourne lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Todd or not. Bourne manages to pull guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bourne plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Todd shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bourne counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Bourne looks for the body kick but Todd saw that one coming. Todd appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Bourne stalks Todd and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Todd's face. Todd staggers backwards, shaken. A head kick misses from Bourne. Bourne steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Todd. Bourne throws a push kick but Todd slaps the foot to one side. Bourne has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nice uppercut lands for Bourne. That snapped Todd's head back.
Todd gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bourne to score an easy takedown into full guard. Todd is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Bourne dives into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bourne scoring with punches from side control. Todd is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bourne has just dragged him back down to the mat. Bourne decides to stand up, so the ref orders Todd to his feet. Bourne has his takedown stuffed and Todd counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bourne pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Todd displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bourne. Bourne tries to clinch but Todd is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Bourne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Dylan Todd's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Bourne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bourne connects with an inside leg kick. Bourne fails with the takedown. Bourne throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Todd's waist but Todd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bourne off to one side. Both fighters are breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Todd misses with a wild body shot. Bourne scores with a jab to the body. Bourne gets tackled into the cage by Todd. Todd maintains the clinch. Bourne gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Todd is wriggling around but Bourne manages to pass to half guard.

Todd is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Bourne is tapping! Great win for Todd!
