Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Li Kong Ho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li Kong Ho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Li Kong Ho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Medina!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ho closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Medina to the mat! Medina manages to get full guard.
Ho stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Medina swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ho trying to control the position from guard on top but Medina is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ho slips nicely into half guard.
Ho trying to control the action but Medina is working from the bottom.

Ho is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Medina is defending against the submission attempts here by Ho.

Ho looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ho is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Medina looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Ho is trying to work for a kimura but Medina is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ho wants to pass the guard but Medina is defending well.
Well, if Ho is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ho is looking to take a break and control but Medina is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ho content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Medina really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ho. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Ho is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Medina is just riding it out for now. Ho eventually gives up the hold.

Ho wants to work for an arm triangle but Medina is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ho is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Li Kong Ho dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ho tries to clinch but Medina is having none of it.
Medina lands a glancing blow to the side of Ho's head.
Medina misses with an uppercut. Ho saw that one coming.
Ho tries to clinch there but Medina circles away.

Ho shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Medina is trying to defend but Ho finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Medina makes his way to full guard, as Ho worked for a kimura.

Ho drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ho jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Li Kong Ho overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Medina keeping moving, preventing Ho from controlling successfully.

Ho drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Ho as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Medina screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Ho! Nice submission victory there!
