Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Fransson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohamed Hazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mohamed Hazier will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Fransson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Mohamed Hazier !
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fransson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.


It looks like Mohamed Hazier has been cut.
Hazier tries to clinch but fails miserably

so Fransson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fransson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hazier really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fransson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fransson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fransson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fransson advances to half guard.
Fransson content to control rather than advance.
Fransson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fransson tries to pass to full mount but Hazier defends it.
Fransson is working hard here to advance position.
Fransson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fransson not doing much here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Fransson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Fransson wants to pass to mount but Hazier is defending the position.
Fransson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hazier 's head.
Fransson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Fransson throws a sloppy head kick and Hazier moves out of range easily.
Fransson tries a head kick but it misses.

Fransson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hazier keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Fransson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Fransson seems to be looking for submissions.

Fransson thows a huge punch but Hazier dodges it nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fransson is working for a submission of some sort.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hazier throws a nice inside leg kick.

Fransson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fransson trying to control the position but Hazier is working away.

Fransson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hazier has escaped the position, nice work there.
Roger Fransson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fransson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hazier knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fransson moves into full mount!

Hazier wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Fransson.

Fransson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hazier is now in Fransson's guard. A big mistake from Fransson there, giving up the dominant position!

Fransson throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hazier uses it to pass to side control.
Fransson is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fransson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fransson manages to get to full guard.

Fransson working for a triangle but Hazier defends it easily.
Fransson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Fransson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hazier doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hazier manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fransson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hazier puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Fransson is trying to control but can't.
Fransson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fransson tries to get out of the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The fighters are battling for position here. Fransson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hazier would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Fransson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fransson pulls Hazier in close to prevent any damage.
Fransson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hazier is posturing up here but Fransson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hazier tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hazier has to tap! Slick submission there by Fransson!
