Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Everaldo Junior! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Striker Mc Steel! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Junior fails to land with a series of punches.
Mc Steel avoids the head kick by Junior.
Junior chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mc Steel can pounce on him.
Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mc Steel is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Mc Steel avoids a punch combination nicely.

Mc Steel tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Junior tries a head kick but it misses.

Junior will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mc Steel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
It looked like Junior was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Junior scores with a head kick. Mc Steel tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
It looks like Striker Mc Steel has been cut. Junior lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mc Steel circles away quickly and effectively. Mc Steel with the counter takedown but Junior avoids it easily. The fighters circling - Mc Steel throws out the jab but it was never going to land. The crowd cheers as Mc Steel lands an impressive looking overhand right. Junior doesn't seem phased though. Mc Steel blocks a head kick by Junior.
Mc Steel is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mc Steel, right into the meat.
Junior tries to land a front kick but Mc Steel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Mc Steel tries to counter by closing the distance. Junior throws a body kick that misses. Junior throws a head kick but Mc Steel moves out of range.

Junior sets himself, and Mc Steel steps forward looking for the clinch! Junior avoids it this time. Junior throws a right and a left that both miss. That's two minutes gone in the round. An inside leg kick lands from Mc Steel. Junior throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mc Steel avoids the head kick by Junior.
Junior is breathing heavily. Mc Steel jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Mc Steel is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Junior fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mc Steel, pushing him back against the cage. Junior's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mc Steel throws a front kick that sends Junior stumbling back into the cage. Mc Steel getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Mc Steel slips a jab and a cross from Junior.
Junior takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mc Steel is looking to slow Junior down with leg kicks. Everaldo Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Junior tries to clinch up but Mc Steel circles away and keeps his distance. Mc Steel drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Junior defends it well. Junior tries to clinch but Mc Steel moves out of range. Junior tries a head kick but it misses.
Mc Steel throws a front kick aimed at Junior's knee but Junior avoids it well. Mc Steel misses with a leg kick. Junior misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mc Steel with the counter takedown but Junior avoids it easily. Mc Steel clobbers Junior with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Everaldo Junior has been cut. Junior checks a low kick from Mc Steel. Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A good leg kick by Mc Steel. Junior avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Mc Steel lands a head shot.
Junior is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Look low, kick high! Mc Steel uses the oldest trick in the book to send Junior tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Mc Steel is absolutely delighted - when Junior wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
