Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zest misses with a low kick.
Brown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zest's waist but Zest gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brown off to one side.
Zest avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brown tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zest paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mark Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zest had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Brown is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Zest Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Brown's back instead.

Zest lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zest closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Brown throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Zest changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brown tries to avoid it but Zest manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brown to the ground. Brown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brown moves in looking to clinch but Zest pushes him off.

Zest tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zest has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Brown manages to work his way to half guard, despite Zest's best efforts.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zest is taking a breather. Brown says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Zest has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Zest manages to capitalize on a mistake by Brown to take his back!

AJ Zest has got the better of the ground game so far.

You can see the frustration on Brown's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

I really don't envy Brown right now.

Brown wants to get back to his feet but Zest is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

AJ Zest comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Zest has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
