The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

It looks like Johnny Lightning has been cut.

Lightning moves into range and clinches up with Barnes.
Barnes tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lightning lands a body shot in the clinch.

Barnes has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Lightning regains guard immediately.
Barnes looking to pass the guard.
Barnes preventing the sweep.
Barnes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lightning striking off his back but it's not causing Barnes any problems.
Lightning is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Lightning working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barnes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barnes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Barnes wants to stand but Lightning has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Lightning wants to sweep here but Barnes controlling him for the moment.
Barnes makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Barnes stays in close to Lightning's body and controls the position.
Lightning manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Barnes is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Lightning locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Barnes is forced to tap!
