Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shotgun Trua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Macadam Baird!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trua tries a head kick but it misses.
Baird steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Trua.
Baird drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Baird is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Trua is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Trua has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Trua wants to control but Baird postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trua is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Baird is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Baird goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Trua rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Baird's guard! Nice work there by Trua!

Trua has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Baird is proving hard to escape from.
Baird wants to sweep here but Trua controlling him for the moment.
Baird has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Trua is looking to stand up but Baird won't let him.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Baird is on top in guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Trua is trying to control the position but Baird postures up.
Baird wants to control from the top but Trua keeps moving.
Trua has control of Baird's left arm, preventing Baird from doing any damage.
Baird passes Trua's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Baird is looking to take a break and control but Trua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Baird is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Trua is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
