Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elliott Potts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirek Zmrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elliott Potts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mirek Zmrd!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zmrd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Zmrd scores with a takedown into Potts's guard.
Potts trying to keep a closed guard but Zmrd is proving a slippery customer.
Zmrd is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Zmrd postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zmrd is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zmrd throws a big right hand that misses.
Zmrd trying to control but Potts is working from the bottom.
Potts wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Zmrd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Potts's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zmrd stands and steps away. Potts gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Potts gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Potts has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Zmrd is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Potts tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Zmrd's elbow.
Potts really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Potts breaks the clinch.
Mirek Zmrd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zmrd rushes Potts and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Potts manages to break the clinch.

Zmrd shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Potts napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Potts tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Zmrd throws some wild stikes that Potts manages to avoid easily.
Potts is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Potts regains half guard.
Potts is looking to control Zmrd's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Potts avoid being mounted?
Zmrd with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Potts moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Potts has Zmrd pulled in close to control his posture.
Potts working a defensive guard here.
Potts is breathing heavily.

Zmrd decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Potts, up you get!
Zmrd misses with a kick to the body.

Potts gets caught napping as Zmrd dives in and scores a takedown. Potts manages to retain guard.

Potts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Zmrd tries to free his leg and advance position but Potts is retaining full guard.
Potts seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Potts will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Zmrd stays in close to Potts's body and controls the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Zmrd stands and steps away. Potts gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Zmrd gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Potts blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Potts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Potts feints a jab promting Zmrd to slip. Potts then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Zmrd slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Zmrd connects with a single shot there.


It looks like Elliott Potts has been cut.
Potts looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zmrd lands with a straight right. Potts didn't see that one coming.

Zmrd closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Potts to the mat! Potts manages to get full guard.


Potts is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Potts can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Zmrd controls the pace.
Zmrd trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Potts wants to get back to his feet but Zmrd is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Potts striking off his back but it's not causing Zmrd any problems.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Zmrd on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Potts can't break the clinch.
The referee calls for Zmrd to work.
Zmrd prevents a body shot from Potts.
Potts has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Zmrd wants to get back to striking at distance but Potts won't allow it.
Potts looking to stall.

Zmrd with a flurry of punches that miss.
Zmrd must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Zmrd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Potts tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Potts is working an open guard so Zmrd takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Potts throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Zmrd is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Potts is trying to control but can't.

Potts holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Zmrd seems to be looking for submissions.
Potts tries to kick Zmrd off but Zmrd keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Zmrd unloads with some shots from mount but Potts bucks and avoids them well.

Potts feints and then cracks Zmrd's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zmrd down.

Zmrd drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Potts dodges the ground and pound from Zmrd.

Zmrd decides to stand back up.

Potts gets caught napping as Zmrd dives in and scores a takedown. Potts manages to retain guard.
Potts wants to stand and escape but Zmrd is having none of it.
Zmrd missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Potts wants to control the position but Zmrd says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Potts is trying to control but can't.
Zmrd has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Potts is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Potts wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Zmrd.
Zmrd throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Potts because Zmrd loaded up on that one.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mirek Zmrd comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Zmrd winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
