Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hong swats away the attempt to clinch by Neves Jr.
Neves Jr takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hong lands with a thumping leg kick.
Julio Cesar Neves Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hong throws a leg kick which misses Neves Jr's front leg but catches the back leg as Neves Jr tries to avoid it.
Neves Jr shoots in and drives through. Hong sprawls well.
That kick from Hong tenderised Neves Jr's leg. Neves Jr is trying to keep his angry face on.

Hong throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Neves Jr tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Hong counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Neves Jr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hong as he jumps to the side.
Hong has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hong rushes Neves Jr and presses him up against the cage.
Hong lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Hong lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Neves Jr backwards.

Hong digs a right hand into Neves Jr's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Neves Jr's gas tank.
Neves Jr changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hong fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Hong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Neves Jr.
Despite the aggression on Hong's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Neves Jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hong to the mat! Hong manages to get full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Neves Jr tries to buck Hong off but Hong is having none of it.
Neves Jr is working hard here to advance position.
Neves Jr is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hong's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Hong! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Neves Jr has tapped! This one is allllll over!
