Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Clark Simon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Kalai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Clark Simon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Kalai!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Francis DeMontford and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simon swings for the body but Kalai moves out of range.
Simon keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kalai.
Kalai walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kalai takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Simon lands the left hand.
Simon misses with a series of wild punches.
Simon lands with an uppercut that bounces Kalai off the cage and back into range.

Kalai gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Simon swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Kalai jumps into guard, dragging Simon to the mat.
Kalai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Simon's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Simon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kalai won't allow Simon to sweep him here.
Simon wants to stand up but Kalai is controlling him.
Simon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Simon tries to get out of the position.

Simon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kalai defends it easily.
Kalai advances position into side control!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kalai prevents Simon from escaping the position.

Kalai tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kalai lands an elbow.
Simon is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kalai throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Simon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kalai on the ground.

Kalai decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A punch combination from Simon misses.
Kalai looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Kalai fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Simon sprawls well initially but Kalai persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Simon is looking to get back to is feet but Kalai passes into side control.
Simon is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kalai is working to tighten his grip on Simon's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Simon has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kalai is really squeezing tight and eventually Simon passes out! Kalai breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). George Kalai!
