Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Bowman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bowman has chosen Thousand foot krutch - War of change as his entrance music. Casey Bowman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rickson Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Casey Bowman! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Bowman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bowman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bowman is fighting to break Gracie's control of his arms but Gracie is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Bowman is looking to stand up but Gracie won't let him. Bowman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bowman has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. Bowman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bowman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie throws a big right hand that misses. Bowman keeping full guard, as Gracie tries to pass. Bowman can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bowman is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Bowman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracie. Gracie is looking to stall here but Bowman recovers full guard. Bowman wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Bowman wriggles free and stands up. Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bowman swivels and escapes. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bowman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gracie somewhat. Gracie shoots in and drives through. Bowman sprawls well. Bowman throws a wild body kick that Gracie sees coming a mile off. Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into Bowman's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gracie wants to control from the top but Bowman keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bowman looking for a sweep. Not yet Bowman, not yet. Gracie trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Bowman wants to get back to his feet but Gracie is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gracie wants to pass the guard but Bowman is keeping the position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rickson Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gracie tries for a takedown but Bowman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Bowman has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gracie checks a leg kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Bowman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gracie keeps the fight on the outside. Bowman throws a push kick but Gracie slaps the foot to one side. Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bowman but Bowman pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bowman is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bowman. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance. No luck with that takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Bowman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bowman throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gracie's head. Excellent takedown into side control there by Gracie. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bowman is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Casey Bowman has got the better of the ground game so far. Bowman regains half guard there - taking advantage of Gracie's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Bowman has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gracie is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Bowman is controlling an arm, preventing Gracie from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Gracie moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bowman has worked his arm free - good work by Bowman!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Gracie seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Bowman is looking to reverse the position. Bowman struggling a bit here. Gracie trying to control the position but Bowman is working away. Gracie throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bowman works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bowman's head. Gracie is pressing down on Bowman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bowman is holding on for now. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall. Gracie is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Gracie looking to finish with strikes here!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bowman has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bowman! Bowman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gracie's guard. Bowman stands up and waves to Gracie to follow him. Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. Bowman tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bowman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A leg kick checked by Gracie. Bowman misses with a head kick.
Bowman tries to clinch up. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Bowman. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Casey Bowman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Bowman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gracie changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Gracie blocks a head kick by Bowman.

Bowman fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bowman defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Bowman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard. Gracie throws a strike but Bowman rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bowman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Gracie's guard. Gracie lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bowman swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gracie won't allow Bowman to get back to his feet. Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Bowman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.
Bowman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get! Rickson Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Casey Bowman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bowman avoids it really well and circles away. Bowman misses with a body shot.

Bowman closes the distance and clinches. Gracie stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Bowman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Gracie dives in and grabs Bowman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bowman pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into Bowman's guard. Bowman has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Gracie is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Gracie wants a takedown but no success here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bowman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie lands a nice shot that snaps Bowman's head back.
Bowman looks for a takedown but Gracie sprawls well. Bowman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gracie. Bowman tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie attempts a counter takedown but Bowman avoids it well and moves away. Bowman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. I wouldn't like to be where Gracie is right now. Bowman decides to stand back up. Nice sprawl there from Bowman as Gracie shoots in. Bowman is looking for the big counter here. Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Bowman, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Bowman against the cage but Bowman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bowman gets a takedown into half guard. Bowman seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Bowman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bowman gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Bowman lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Gracie misses with a hook. Bowman ducked under it nicely. Bowman throws a body kick that misses. Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Bowman, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Bowman against the cage but Bowman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Gracie misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Bowman counters with a series of strikes. Gracie will be more careful next time no doubt. Bowman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Casey Bowman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bowman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Casey Bowman! Casey Bowman spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
