Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Psycho Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Russell comes to the cage accompanied by Encore Jay z and Lincoln Park. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brendan Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murphy dives in and scores a takedown into Russell's guard.

Russell tries to kick Murphy off but Murphy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murphy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Murphy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Russell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Russell pushes Murphy off but Murphy dives into side control.
Russell takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Murphy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Russell keeps working.

Murphy is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Russell will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Russell is trying to control Murphy's posture but Murphy avoids it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Russell shoots in and drives through. Murphy sprawls well.

Murphy slips a jab and a cross from Russell.
Murphy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Russell throws out the jab.
Murphy throws a nice inside leg kick.

Brendan Murphy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Murphy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Russell is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Russell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Russell is not content to let Murphy control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Russell is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Murphy works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

You can see the frustration on Russell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Murphy in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Russell looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Murphy turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brendan Murphy!
A relieved looking Brendan Murphy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Psycho Russell had this to say: 'Got to train harder and get more focus'.
