Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Soderberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nixy Souch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rufus Soderberg has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rufus Soderberg seems to be OK! 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nixy Souch! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soderberg displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Souch. Nice uppercut lands for Soderberg. That snapped Souch's head back.
Soderberg throws a good cross that connects.
Soderberg lands a nice hook to Souch's body. Souch takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Souch has his takedown stuffed and Soderberg counters with a takedown into side control. Soderberg scores with punches from side control. Soderberg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Souch is working to avoid the ground and pound but Soderberg connects with a decent elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Soderberg working the body and head with strikes. Souch is trying to improve his position. Soderberg controlling the position from side mount. Soderberg is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Souch has escaped the position, nice work there.

Soderberg is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Souch will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Soderberg looks up at the clock and then as Souch takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Soderberg smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Souch is looking to regain half guard here but Soderberg keeps moving and retains side control. Soderberg is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Souch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Soderberg in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soderberg gets to mount! Souch was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Soderberg controlling from mount. Soderberg lands with some strikes.
Souch is rocked! Soderberg connects with a bit shot that sees Souch covering up! More strikes from Soderberg and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Soderberg is our winner by TKO!
