Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jae Gilmore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Johnson lands strikes from half guard.
Johnson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Gilmore is trying to stand back up but Johnson is controlling him
Gilmore knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gilmore defends it well.
Gilmore really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but Gilmore is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Johnson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gilmore sees it coming and defends easily.

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gilmore is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Johnson scores with a couple of nice shots.

Johnson drops an elbow to the side of Gilmore's head.
Oh Gilmore is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson scores with a big shot! Gilmore's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Gilmore! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Johnson!
After the fight, Tony Johnson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
