Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aleks Starakiewski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drew Fournier!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starakiewski tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fournier defends well and Starakiewski ends up having to push Fournier into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Fournier stuffs the takedown.
Starakiewski is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fournier sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fournier throws out a counter right but Starakiewski avoids it with no problem.

Fournier clinches up with Starakiewski and pushes him back against the cage.

Starakiewski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fournier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fournier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fournier is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Starakiewski is defending well though. Fournier let's go of the attempt for now.

Starakiewski drops back, looking for a kneebar! Fournier looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Fournier looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Fournier!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fournier slaps away a takedown attempt from Starakiewski, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Fournier is sitting in close to Starakiewski's body. Starakiewski has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Fournier is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Fournier is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Starakiewski.
