Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marko Hanttonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Zerzhynsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zerzhynsky has chosen 2Pac-Under Pressure as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marko Hanttonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dmitry Zerzhynsky!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanttonen throws a right hand that Zerzhynsky ducks under and follows up with a left that Zerzhynsky also avoids with ease.
Zerzhynsky's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Zerzhynsky's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Hanttonen pushes Zerzhynsky up against the cage in a clinch.
Hanttonen scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Hanttonen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Zerzhynsky.
Hanttonen can't find room to land a body shot as Zerzhynsky controls the action.

Zerzhynsky jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hanttonen walks away with a smile on his face. Zerzhynsky gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hanttonen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

It looks like Dmitry Zerzhynsky has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hanttonen throws an off balance right hand
and Zerzhynsky counters with a three punch combo that has Hanttonen backing up. Hanttonen nods at Zerzhynsky to acknowledge the strikes.

Hanttonen clinches up against the cage.
Our sources have told us that Hanttonen has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zerzhynsky tries to pull guard but Hanttonen holds him up against the cage and eventually Zerzhynsky drops back down to his feet.

Zerzhynsky throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hanttonen escapes and throws Zerzhynsky's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Zerzhynsky is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zerzhynsky gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Zerzhynsky is pressing down on Hanttonen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hanttonen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Zerzhynsky has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hanttonen has managed to get both his arms back between Zerzhynsky's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hanttonen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Zerzhynsky wants to improve his position but Hanttonen is controlling well.

Zerzhynsky wants to control but Hanttonen is keeping busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hanttonen throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Zerzhynsky counters with a right hand to the body.
Hanttonen tries to close the distance and clinch but Zerzhynsky swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hanttonen throws a sloppy head kick and Zerzhynsky moves out of range easily.
It seemed like Zerzhynsky was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Marko Hanttonen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hanttonen tests Zerzhynsky's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice uppercut lands for Zerzhynsky. That snapped Hanttonen's head back.
Hanttonen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Zerzhynsky let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Zerzhynsky checks a leg kick.
Hanttonen looks to land a body kick but Zerzhynsky moved away.
Hanttonen tries to score with a low kick but Zerzhynsky moves his leg out of the way.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Zerzhynsky! But no joy.
Hanttonen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Zerzhynsky gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Hanttonen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zerzhynsky swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hanttonen misses with the body kick
and Zerzhynsky counters with a right hand to the body.
Hanttonen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Zerzhynsky throws a lazy right hand but Hanttonen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It looked like Hanttonen was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Zerzhynsky.

Hanttonen throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hanttonen wants to land a leg kick but Zerzhynsky is out of range.

Zerzhynsky tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hanttonen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hanttonen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zerzhynsky can do to turn this around?

Zerzhynsky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hanttonen defends it nicely.

Zerzhynsky lands a nice hook to Hanttonen's body. Hanttonen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Zerzhynsky counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Hanttonen finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Hanttonen turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zerzhynsky jumps guard but Hanttonen stands there with Zerzhynsky around his waist. Zerzhynsky gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
