Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Victor Sweet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Franklin! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sweet throws a half hearted mid kick. Franklin feints the counter takedown. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Franklin checks a leg kick. Franklin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Sweet shoots and misses and Franklin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sweet won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franklin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sweet knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Franklin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sweet has escaped the position, nice work there. Franklin swings around for an armbar but Sweet sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Franklin's guard. Franklin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Sweet not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Franklin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Sweet is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Franklin defends it well. Franklin has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at LOD: Purpose Training Center™ . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Franklin looking for submissions off his back. Sweet seems to be looking for submissions.

Sweet passes to full mount! Sweet has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Franklin sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Franklin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Sweet passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Franklin! Franklin is desperately trying to improve his position but Sweet has a good base and remains in mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Franklin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Franklin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Franklin looking for submissions off his back. Franklin looks winded! Franklin looking for subs from the bottom but Sweet mounts him! Franklin is squirming around, avoiding Sweet's attempts to control the action. Sweet looking to secure an arm triangle but Franklin defends it well. Franklin tries to improve his position but instead Sweet has taken his back!

Franklin is trapped and Sweet is scoring with shots to the head and body. Sweet has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. You can see the frustration on Franklin's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Franklin is keeping busy.
Sweet has the hooks in. Franklin is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Sweet's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Franklin is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sweet is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Franklin is tapping out! This one is all over!
