Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stephen Lesley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leo Dica! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dica fails in his attempt to clinch. Dica takes one to the chin there. Lesley misses with a hook
and Dica counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Dica throws a combination that misses and Lesley counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dica misses with a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dica. Lesley cracks Dica with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Lesley chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Lesley misses with a looping left. Dica with a poor takedown and Lesley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A punch combination from Dica misses. Lesley fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Dica tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lesley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Stephen Lesley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lesley lands with a straight right. Dica didn't see that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dica avoids the body shot from Lesley.
Lesley connects with a leg kick. Dica looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Lesley swings for the body but Dica moves out of range.
Dica misses with a takedown attempt - Lesley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Stephen Lesley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Dica. Lesley fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dica, pushing him back against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Lesley. Lesley lands a left hand.
A short right from Lesley on the inside. Dica fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lesley scores with a shoulder strike. Dica takes a shot to the head. Dica taking a breather. A right hook to the body lands for Lesley.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dica's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Lesley lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dica backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dica changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Lesley fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dica looks winded! Dica takes a jab right on the kisser.
Dica is rocked! BAM! Lesley delivers a spinning backfist that drops Dica like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Stephen Lesley! A relieved looking Stephen Lesley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
