Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cedric Vanbelt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vanbelt has chosen Meet the Monster as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nelson Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cedric Vanbelt! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker tries to clinch but Vanbelt is having none of it. Vanbelt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Vanbelt forces Walker back against the cage and clinches. Vanbelt wants to break free but Walker has control.
Walker misses with an elbow over the top. Vanbelt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Walker is looking to clinch but Vanbelt is avoiding it.
Vanbelt fails with a takedown attempt. Vanbelt gets a takedown into half guard. Vanbelt is looking to take a break and control but Walker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Walker wants to control but Vanbelt is keeping busy and won't allow it. Vanbelt with the ground and pound but Walker uses the opportunity to regain guard. Vanbelt throwing strikes from guard but Walker blocks nicely. Vanbelt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vanbelt paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vanbelt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Walker as he avoids it easily. Walker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Vanbelt circles away.

Walker drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Walker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Vanbelt wants to stand and escape but Walker is having none of it. Vanbelt looks gassed! Walker chips away with some ground and pound. Vanbelt keeping moving, preventing Walker from controlling successfully. Walker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Walker distracts Vanbelt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Walker won't allow Vanbelt to sweep him here. Walker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Walker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker wants to control from the top but Vanbelt keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Walker is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Walker won't allow Vanbelt to get back to his feet. Walker trying to control but Vanbelt is working from the bottom. Walker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vanbelt manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Walker has Vanbelt in his guard.

Vanbelt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Vanbelt looks to clinch and Walker counters with a takedown into side control. Vanbelt sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Walker sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vanbelt defending well though. Vanbelt tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Walker manages to move to mount!
Walker cracks Vanbelt with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vanbelt can do anything to dispel that myth. Vanbelt wants to control but Walker is having none of it. Walker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vanbelt is looking to escape. Walker lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Walker controlling from the full mount. Walker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vanbelt's face.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vanbelt keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Nelson Walker dominated that round. That's time! Walker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Vanbelt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Walker counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Walker wants to work for an arm triangle but Vanbelt is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Vanbelt is not content to let Walker control the position. Vanbelt is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Vanbelt slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Vanbelt wants to sweep but no luck. Walker wants to pass the guard but Vanbelt is keeping the position. Vanbelt is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Vanbelt is breathing heavily. Walker trying to land knees to the body.

Vanbelt gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Vanbelt lands a couple of digs. Vanbelt wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position. Vanbelt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Vanbelt stands and steps away. Walker gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Walker has closed the distance and engaged Vanbelt in a clinch.

Walker lands a damaging elbow. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Vanbelt creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Walker misses with a knee to the head. Walker misses with a knee strike.
Vanbelt is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Walker can't fight it off and eventually Vanbelt manages to take the fight to the floor. Walker looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Walker looking for a sweep. Not yet Walker, not yet. Walker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Vanbelt lands a couple of decent looking shots. Vanbelt slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Walker wants to control but Vanbelt postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vanbelt lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Walker down.
Vanbelt scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Walker to see if he's OK. Vanbelt in side control, throwing shots but Walker defends. You can see the frustration on Walker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Vanbelt decides to stand up, so the ref orders Walker to his feet. Walker instigates a clinch. Vanbelt tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walker just stands there and leans against the cage. Walker with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Cedric Vanbelt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Vanbelt has Walker pulled in close to control his posture. Vanbelt wants to hit a switch here but Walker passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Vanbelt there! Vanbelt is desperately trying to improve his position but Walker has a good base and remains in mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vanbelt wants to control but Walker is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker blocks Vanbelt's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Vanbelt is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Nelson Walker overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vanbelt tries to lock up and control but Walker gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Walker with shots to the head and body - Vanbelt looks very uncomfortable down there. Walker has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vanbelt's face.

Walker lands with some strikes. Walker can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Vanbelt is looking to escape. Walker goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vanbelt is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Nelson Walker showed his dominance in that final round. Well Walker has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
