PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jeremy Sullivan was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 48 - 23 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeremy Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Sullivan is looking to clinch.
Sanchez scores with a body shot.

Sullivan has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sullivan moves out of range as Sanchez strikes.

Sanchez is pressed up against the cage. Sullivan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sanchez down to the mat. Sanchez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Sullivan throws a strike but Sanchez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sullivan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Sullivan's legs - danger averted.

Sullivan has his foot on Sanchez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanchez works his way back into a safe position though.

Sullivan takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Sullivan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sanchez as he jumps to the side.

It looks like Jeremy Sullivan has been cut.

Sullivan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sanchez tries to avoid it but Sullivan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sanchez to the ground. Sanchez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sullivan lands a big elbow - Sanchez is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Sullivan!

A relieved looking Jeremy Sullivan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
