Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brendon Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zenon Kopytko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kopytko's choice of entrance music: Dla Zysku. Brendon Davis had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis slips a straight right by Kopytko.

Kopytko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Davis moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Zenon Kopytko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Davis counters with a big head kick but Kopytko shrugs it off.
Kopytko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Davis.

Kopytko lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Davis has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
